Retired executive director Randy Brown with 2021 jury members Gerald FitzGerald, Rea Kelly, Michelle Ross, and Catherine Berka.

Cabbagetown Art & Crafts, and the annual art show and sale it presents, was founded in 1988 by Randy Brown, a Cabbagetown resident and well-known photographer. He continued to mount and manage the show with great success until his retirement in spring 2022.

The show and sale is held in Riverdale Park West, located in Cabbagetown in the heart of downtown Toronto, and is the oldest and prettiest park in the city.

The show and sale takes place on the second weekend of September, the weekend after Labour Day. There is no admission fee and it is readily accessible by TTC.

Cabbagetown Art & Crafts is a community-based, not-for-profit corporation which benefits many local charitable organizations. The aims of CA&C are to encourage appreciation of the visual arts, to give artists a place to showcase and sell their work, and to foster community spirit.

Exhibitors’ tents line the walkways of Riverdale Park West and tens of thousands of people stroll the walkways to view their wares. Overarching trees provide shade, there are park benches for family picnics, and ample food for sale. All in all, it is a wonderful community event. Come, be part of it.
